Research charter vessels are built to work. They accommodate all varieties of transportation, lodging, fishing activities and storage options. These research vessels have experience working with scientific and productive work crews and can furnish not only great mobile quarters and delicious meals, but also a conducive work environment. Our research vessels span the range of fishing boats to converted tenders. Many are equipped with cranes, fishing equipment, and storage for dive equipment and other scientific tools.
We have vessels in the Aleutians, Prince William Sound, and Southeast Alaska that are adept at navigating through their home waters and practiced at ocean-oriented fieldwork. The capable captains of these research vessels contribute their expertise and knowledge of the desired waters in a proficient and skilled manner.
Research charters help scientists investigate animals and various environments on location for a designated period of time or as long as it take to get samples. More samples can be obtained and work accomplished by anchoring at or near the study site so that time and resources are not wasted in daily transportation needs to and from remote locations. A charter vessel may even act as a remote lodge while studies or surveys are taken on land, with access to land provided by skiff.
